Dear Parishioners, friends, and community members:

Auction 8, the annual auction of Our Lady of La Salette Parish is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the Father Landry Center.

The theme of this year's auction is "Let's Go to the Movies." The auction is indeed an investment in the future of this community of faith and service. We whole-heartedly invite everyone to join us for this special evening. It is a great example of combining fundraising and friendraising.

The first seven auctions have raised nearly $160,000 for the parish, but the most important impact has been the spirit of community developed by those participating, both as bidders and volunteer workers.

The Auction 8 Committee is meeting and planning to make this year's event bigger and better. With a goal of $32,000, many individuals are necessary to make the auction successful. We especially need everyone who is willing to solicit ads for the program booklet and gifts for the silent and live auctions.

Our auction committee will keep you up-to-date through this website, the parish weekly bulletin and occasional announcements before Mass.

Auction 8 promises to be a fun and enjoyable event. No one needs to be reluctant to attend. All you need is the admission price of $20 pre-sale or $30 at the door. But remember, the real excitement comes from bidding for items. They are available at all price ranges.

I again extend to you an invitation to invest in Our Lady of La Salette Parish. Help out in any way that you feel comfortable. Whether you join us as a bidder or a worker (or both), you will be an important part of our largest one day fundraiser and community building effort.
